World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2025

April was marked by TGHM’s strong commitment to workplace safety and health in honor of the World Day dedicated to this cause. The company implemented a series of initiatives across multiple sites and within surrounding communities.

On April 22, employees from the Mahitsy, Sahanivotry, and Maroantsetra sites gathered around the crucial theme of chemical management. Workshops and informational sessions helped raise awareness of best practices and essential preventive measures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment when handling these substances.

Discussions continued on April 24 at TGHM’s headquarters in Ivato. In line with this year’s theme proposed by the International Labour Organization (ILO), teams explored the impact of digitalization on workplace safety and health. The exchanges focused on the opportunities that new technologies offer to improve working conditions, as well as the emerging risks that need to be anticipated and managed.

Finally, on April 25, TGHM expanded its efforts beyond its operational sites by organizing awareness campaigns in the communes of Ampitatafika and Alakamisy Fenoarivo. The goal was to inform local communities about the dangers associated with high-voltage power lines and to promote safe behaviors to prevent accidents and ensure everyone’s well-being. This initiative reflects TGHM’s commitment to safety, not only for its employees but also for the populations it interacts with.
